LP sleeve size

We are often asked what the dimensions of LP covers are. A good question! The size of an LP cover is useful information to have if you want to frame your LP. The sizes of the album LP and the single LP differ. The LPs of albums are larger, also called the 12″ (inch) albums. “12 inches” represents the diagonal length of the LP. The vinyl record of the single is 7″ (inch). Luckily for you, we have a suitable LP list for both albums and singles.

Size LP sleeve 12 inches and LP albums

The dimensions of the LPs are 12 inches, or diagonally 315 millimeters. The LP record comes with a paper LP inner sleeve. The inner sleeves protect the vinyl records against damage and dirt. The dimensions of an LP inner sleeve for albums are 305 millimeters (length) by 305 millimeters (wide). Have you lost your inner cover? No problem! The cardboard LP cover is on the outside. This often contains information about the artist, album, release date, record label and press number. The dimensions of the LP sleeve are 315 millimeters (length) by 315 millimeters (wide) . The LP covers increasingly have appealing images and photos that belong to the album or artist. The dimensions of the LPs are 7 inches, in other words 177 millimeters. The single does not always have a protective inner sleeve. You can buy protective inner covers for singles for a reasonable price at 45toeren.nl. The LP inner sleeves are usually 180 millimeters (length) and 180 millimeters (wide) . Most singles come in the outer sleeve without an inner sleeve. The outer cover can be made of cardboard or paper. The dimensions of the LP sleeve for singles are 185 millimeters (length) by 185 millimeters (wide) . The single LP frame (7 inches), like its big brother, is designed for the outer sleeve of the LP single. We also leave some space with the LP hanging system for singles, so that you can easily hang your slightly different LP on the wall.

Single LP with expressed inside

Many singles have a larger circle on the inside. This is okay, your single vinyl record is not broken! The inside used to be pushed out so it could be placed in the jukebox. If you want to play your single LP on an LP player, you have to go back to the 'original' old round. Special 7″ singles sparklers are sold for this purpose. Asterisks fill the larger gap and have the original circle in the center. They are easy to click in and out of a single. We send a single asterisk as standard with our orders for single LP lists.
